So why do you think your house is so hot that you cannot sleep – you have opened windows and doors for cross flow ventilation – turned on fans etc. but nothing seems to work.
The one thing you have not thought of or even considered – is the excessive heat trapped in your roofspace – between your roof covering and ceiling.
This heat has been built up all day and without effective roof ventilation to remove the built up heat the only place it has to go is to the inside of your home bombarding you all night – hence restless sleep. No matter what you do, without effective roof ventilation this heat will dissipate into the home all night, leaving you with no sleep or very restless sleep.
Don’t think that any type of insulation will help with this problem it will most likely hinder or exacerbate the problem.
The only thing that will work is to get rid of this built up heat with effective roof ventilation – the fact is you can have too much roof ventilation or not enough the wrong kind of ventilators or two different kinds that do not work well together.
So what are you to do to cool your roofspace?
